Baldi is an iconic indie horror parody of 90s educational games, casting you as a student trapped in a school with a math teacher who is brilliant, slightly unhinged, and very fast with a ruler. One wrong answer is all it takes for Baldi to start hunting you through the hallways. The intentionally crude, "homemade" graphics are reminiscent of low-budget educational CD-ROMs from that era, and the gradually increasing difficulty pairs with a horror element that builds without graphic violence. White brick-patterned walls and a speckled tan floor line the hallways. In one corridor, a bald character in a green shirt and blue pants stands at the center of the passage.

Story / Setting

Your friend left all his notebooks scattered throughout the school but cannot go back to retrieve them — he will be late for eating practice if he does. So you return to the school in his place. Inside, it is just you and the nice teacher. But it is not that simple. Baldi loves challenging his students with fun trivia problems whenever he can, and each mistake transforms that kind professor into a monster that suddenly appears in the hallway.

How to Play Baldi

Start by choosing either Story Mode or Endless Mode. Once inside the school, search every corner for your friend's scattered notebooks. Each time you find one, you must solve math problems to collect it. As you progress from class to class, the problems grow harder and Baldi moves faster and faster. In Story Mode the goal is to collect all 7 notebooks and then exit the school. Sound is essential — it lets you hear Baldi approaching so you are able to react in time, and it is the main component of the game's escalating suspense.

• Endless Mode: Collect as many notebooks as you are able to!

Tips & Tricks

• Be Quiet: Move around the school as quietly as possible; Baldi reacts to every sound. Opening doors and rustling pages attract attention — if you hear a ruler approaching, freeze.
• The Principal: Besides Baldi, the Principal also roams the school, signaled by a whistle. When he is nearby, avoid breaking school rules. However, sometimes a punishment can save you from Baldi's wrath, so act accordingly.
• Collect Items: Items are great helpers for distracting or escaping from Baldi.
• Keep Moving: The less you move, the faster the teacher moves.

Weapons / Gear / Items

• Quarter: A coin that allows you to buy upgrades from vending machines.
• BSODA: Pushes Baldi away with a blast of blue soda to the nearest wall.
• Principal's Keys: Allows you to leave detention once before the allotted punishment time is up.
• Alarm Clock: Distracts Baldi with sound.
• Slap: Slows down Baldi.
