That's Not My Neighbor! Or is It? puts you in the role of a newly hired guard at a very unusual building. Your core responsibility is straightforward but demanding: recognize the real neighbors returning home and expose the monsters that have stolen their appearances. Every visitor who approaches your window could be a familiar face or a cunning impostor, and the stakes of getting it wrong run in both directions — letting a monster through is just as bad as turning away a genuine neighbor.

The game blends mystery and detective thinking with sharp attention to detail, rewarding careful observation and analytical skills over speed alone. Several scenes show the guard station's window as the central point of contact between you and whoever stands outside.

How to Play That's Not My Neighbor! Or is It?

Each time someone arrives at the building, they hand you cards through the window containing their details. These cards appear directly below the window, and clicking on them lets you review the neighbor's information alongside their entry request. Cross-reference what you see against the whitelist — accessible by clicking it on the right side of the screen — to check whether the person in front of you matches the records on file.

Once you've made your assessment, act on it: use the green button on the right to allow a genuine neighbor to pass, or use the red button on the left to eliminate a monster. The guiding rule is simple to state but harder to execute — do not let the monsters pass, and do not eliminate the neighbors.
