Girlfriend from Hell is an addictive 2D arcade puzzle game built around one very specific mission: a scorned girlfriend's revenge on the boyfriend who turned her down. The heroine, Miya, loved Haruto more than life itself and waited patiently for him to propose. When she finally asked him to marry her, he refused — computer games, apparently, ranked higher than love. Furious, Miya decided to make his life hell, and that is exactly where the player comes in.

One scene shows a character in glasses and an orange shirt slipping on a yellow banana peel on a red rug. Several doors in the house appear secured with orange-colored padlocks across different views of the space. In another moment, a red car sits parked in a garage decorated with a poster of a character with blue hair and cat ears.

How to Play Girlfriend from Hell: Collect Objects and Set Traps

The goal is to make Haruto's life hell by collecting various objects scattered around the environment and using them to set traps. The game gives concrete examples of how this works: toy balls found on a shelf can be scattered on the floor where Haruto walks, causing him to slip and fall. A saw can be used to cut through the chair he is sitting on, so that when he sits down, it gives way beneath him. Each trap requires finding the right item and deploying it in the right spot.
